Religion Video: Sharing Your Experiences

I am enjoying reading your questions about the introductory section of our textbook. Here are some examples of strong, interesting questions:

Explicit Questions

Tate: Does Rio de Janeiro have any ties to Christianity? Why is the famous statue of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro?

Jaxson: Does YHWH stand for something? [Michael asked a related question: What is the full name of the Jewish God?]

Thank you to Camila and Sophia for the beautiful colorings!

Deep Questions

Lochlyn and Katie: Why are there so many different religions? Why isn't the whole world just one religion?]

I love Lochlyn's and Katie's questions; we'll talk about a way to expand them and make them even better.

Ethan, Matthew and Parthie: Why do different religions pray in different ways? For example, some people kneel while worshipping, but others think it is respectful to stand -- why? Does it really matter if you stand or sit? Also, does it matter if you pray by talking, whispering, or just saying the words in your mind? Why do people get to decide if they pray out loud or to themselves?

Brynne: When I see people pray on television shows, they make it seem like they are hopeful. Are people more hopeful when they pray?

Ansel: At what point is something considered a religion, and how does a religion become popular?

Wyatt S.: Why are high places significant in many religions, instead of low places?
