We learned about the story of Arjuna and the excruciating choice that faced him on the edge of a great battlefield: should he remain faithful to his fellow soldiers, even if it means battling the beloved members of his own family?
Students worked in groups to examine a beautiful painting of Arjuna and Krishna. They practiced their deep questioning skills, too:
Ella Grace, Chase M., Joseph A. and Annabelle: Why would Krishna choose to help a mortal without something in return? Or did he want something in return?
Nico, Morgan, Jake and Gabe: Do gods take sides in human wars? If so, why?

The students also made predictions about what will happen next in the story.
Michael, Mila, Agustin, Mason and Piers think that Arjuna will convince the two armies to make peace with each other. Sawyer, Sarah, Sofia and Langston, on the other hand, think that Arjuna will choose to fight (and possibly kill) the members of his own family. Do you agree with one of these groups, or do you think something else will happen?
